BENEVOLENCE

The word benevolence means a kindly, charitable act; to do good; kindness. The purpose of this ministry is to assist in crisis situations, those who find themselves without the financial means to meet their obligations.

The extent to which an individual or family is helped is determined by the individual need. The Word of God declares in I John 3:17, “But whoso hath this world’s goods and seeth his brother have need and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?”

It is our endeavor to fulfill this scripture to the best of our ability. Yet there is a far greater responsibility that must be met. The spiritual implications are far more important than the fleshly needs. By that we mean that all fleshly manifestations, whether they be good or bad, have a spiritual root.

Life Springs is not here just to meet the needs of the flesh, such as rent, food, clothing, and etc. We must establish the spirit in right standing with God. We sometimes have a tendency to look only at the problem rather than the cause.

In our endeavors to help people, we will search for the cause and thereby come up with a solution to the problem, praying that they will not have to go through these areas again. Paul summed it up in II Corinthians 10:3-4, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God, to the pulling down of strongholds.”

Financial bondage is a stronghold of satan. If satan can steal your finances, he will cripple you in the spirit. When you are unable to tithe and give offerings into the kingdom of God, then God is unable to perform His word in prospering you.

We must together destroy the stronghold in their life. In the Third Epistle of John, verse two, the word gives us God’s will for you in finances.“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

God wishes for you to be in perfect health and prospering or succeeding in all areas of your walk with Him. The last five words of that scripture is the key to success in the kingdom of
God; even as thy soul prospers.

We must together find the cause of their problem that placed them in their position, applying the knowledge of God’s word and becoming free. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.” Knowledge is what we are looking for. In John 8:31-32, Jesus said, “If you continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed. You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free:“  We will see them walking in total freedom as we work together to destroy satan’s strongholds. Again, our desire is to see you set free, walking in total victory through the word of the Lord Jesus Christ. As we walk together, I assure you we shall possess the land.  We must never forget the commandment of the Lord to reach out to those in need. Yet we must also understand that when Jesus fed the poor He was a good steward always making sure that the fragments were picked up and that nothing was wasted. It is very easy for us to take short cuts because of time or whatever the reason and pay our way out of counseling.

Allow me to remind you we are not here to feed the flesh. “What doth it profit, my brethren, to gainthe whole world and lose your soul?” Our number one priority is to find the root of the spiritual problem and correct it, thereby correcting the physical problem.

Always remember “without faith it is impossible to please God, for those who cometh to God, must believe that He is, and, that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him”.
